Bro. Philip Mobley was installed as the Senior Minster of the Northside Church of Christ on

May 3, 2015.  He obeyed the Gospel of Christ at the age of 21 in 1974 after being taught by Brother Charlie McClendon of the Northside Congregation in Jacksonville, Florida.

Brother Mobley was selected by the Northside congregation to serve as a leaders. In 1982, he was selected with several other brothers to serve as one of the first Deacons of the congregation. In 1992, Brother Mobley was ordained as an Elder of the Northside Church of Christ.  With this role, Brother Mobley worked in all aspects of the Church.

Brother Mobley dedicated himself to the work for the Church.  As Elder, Brother Mobley led or supported several ministries at the congregation including Youth, Technology, Finance, Media, and Outreach Ministries.  Brother Mobley’s passion has always been for youth.  Over the years, he has worked with countless number of young people and their families, developing them to be faithful and productive Christians.

Not only did he work passionately with the youth of the Northside Church of Christ, he has worked with many non-profits and governmental agencies of Jacksonville and the state of Florida to help children in the communities.  His list of community involvement is extensive.  Brother Mobley received many awards and recognitions for his work with young people including accommodations from the Governor of the State of Florida, two mayors of Jacksonville, a Florida Senator, and a US Congresswoman.

Brother Phil, as he is affectionately known as, is a native of Lake City, Florida.  He and his wife of 41 years were blessed with two wonderful

children Philip Jr. (deceased) and Shanna.  The have 5 grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.  After the death of their son, Brother Phil and

Sister Toni assumed the role of raising one of their grandsons, Henry.

Brother Phil received his Associate degree from Florida Gateway College in 1973, Bachelor degree from the University of North Florida in 1975

and MBA from Jacksonville University in 2002. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Education Leadership from the University of North Florida.
